Have you
ever felt strange about something going on in your town? If you do you could
relate to this book.
It all
started when Calder and his dad went to England and they saw a mysterious sculpture
in the middle of the town. The townspeople get stirred up about this sculpture
because they don’t know where it came from or who has donated it. When Calder
tries to investigate, he meets this mysterious man and then Calder disappears.
Will Calder ever find his way home?
I liked the
book because it was like a cliff hanger the entire book. An example of this
would on page 204 when it says “… From where they stood on a pile of rocks,
both could see: Curled in the stern of the boat, wrapped in red blankets, was a
body.”
I would
recommend The Calder Games to people who like cliff hangers. Blue Balliett
does a great job of explaining the setting when she was talking about the maze
I felt like I was in the maze!
I give this book three paws!Posted by: Wildcat 23
